Coverage and definitions
OOTP batted-ball readings from ABL regular-season games. Spring training, All-Star games, the postseason, and affiliated leagues are excluded. The available at-bat export begins in 2024. Each one-click update preserves these events before OOTP can overwrite a completed season.
EV / LA: Exit velocity is the OOTP-recorded speed of the batted ball in miles per hour. Launch angle is the OOTP-recorded vertical angle of the batted ball in degrees.
Hard-hit: Hard-hit balls have an exit velocity of at least 95 mph.
Sweet spot: Sweet-spot contact has a launch angle from 8 through 32 degrees.
Barrel: Barrels use the MLB-style exit-velocity and launch-angle zone, beginning at 98 mph and 26–30 degrees.
EV50: EV50 is the average exit velocity of a hitter's hardest 50 percent of batted balls.
Thresholds follow the published MLB Statcast glossary; ABL readings are generated by OOTP rather than MLB tracking hardware.
